Introducing POORTEC by Analog Obsession: A Modern Twist on Classic EQ Design

 

Analog Obsession has unveiled POORTEC, a fresh take on the classic PLTC equalizer, reimagined for today's music producers. This plugin simplifies the traditional design by eliminating the SRPP gain stage and inductors, opting instead for a Fairchild-style old line amplifier to enhance signals post-passive EQ.

Key Features of POORTEC

  1. Low Frequency Control
     Experience the renowned PLTC low-end trick, now with additional frequency options for enhanced flexibility.

  2. High Frequency Control
     Utilize a shelf-shaped high boost and cut at the same frequency, offering versatility in tonal shaping. While replicating the original bell shape is challenging, POORTEC provides the tools to achieve it.

  3. TP (Trimpot Gain Stage)
     This internal trimpot adds extra drive to your signal, enriching transients for a unique sound. Although not directly adjustable from the interface, it can be calibrated to provide up to a 20dB gain boost, allowing for a hotter signal and distinctive tonal character.

  4. Output Control
     Deliver clean, transparent audio with POORTEC's master output, ensuring your mix retains its clarity.

  5. Bypass Functionality
     A prominent red button allows for easy bypassing, facilitating quick comparisons and workflow efficiency.

Resizable Interface

POORTEC features a user-friendly, resizable interface, adjustable from 50% to 200% to suit various screen resolutions and personal preferences.

Resizing Tip:
 To maintain your preferred GUI size across sessions:

  1. Open the plugin for the first time.

  2. Adjust the GUI to your desired size before modifying any controls.

  3. Save this state as the default preset within your DAW.

This ensures new instances open with your preferred dimensions. To revert to the default size, double-click the resize handle.
